The EBP!

I recently completed a "Creative Marketing Assistant" internship with the Education Business Partnership, EBP for short. In this role I put a lot of my creative skills to use in a professional environment.
Projects I was involved in included:
T-shirt design, logos, document design, designing and ordering smaller items such as name badges.
Above is the t-shirt design for a charity called "One Me". I was involved in many parts of the launch of the charity, but this is perhaps the biggest project I worked on. This t-shirt is intended for volunteers to wear when out in the community.
Next, I was asked to work on an A4 booklet for the "Red Stem" event at RAF Scampton. This booklet was handed out to guests from local schools. The booklet included, comments from the special guest speakers, and logos from the sponsors. This booklet followed the companies colours and branding.

These above three images, are part of a project for the Yorkshire Building Society. I was asked to design logos for pages on a website, which was aimed at younger users. I used the companies colours and theme of overlapping colours to keep in with the style.
I really enjoyed my time with the EBP, and my experiences are far wider than the few projects I have mentioned here. I worked on small projects for internal uses, such as name badges and business cards. Up to large scale events, where my work was seen by hundreds of people.

Wow, I can't even remember the last time I have posted on here. Real life getting in the way again I guess.

Basically I have had two jobs since February. One my normal day job, and the second working for the EBP as a... wait for it... Creative Marketing Assistant (Intern). This role has really opened up my career choices now. Not only can I do illustration, but I now know how to work in a more deadline orientated environment. I know what to ask clients, such as "Do you have company colours or branding?". An I know how to put trim marks on stuff now! It is my last day on Monday so once I am done I can take stock, do up my portfolio, list all the projects I have worked on, and start something new.

I have a master plan, and I will be working as an Illustrator, not just doing it in my spare time.

In other news I have been asked to do some canvases for a residential home. There are 4 units, and the residents have been asked "What is love?" We were thinking of painting some trees or something nice like that.

I'm back!

HEY! It's been a while! And I'm really sorry for that. But lots has been happening. A small snippet of what I've been up to is that I finally got my head around this whole drawing tablet malarky! I created this image above using it. It's for the Ritz cinema in Lincoln, for their upcoming screening of The Rocky Horror Picture show.

Heylo

My my my it's been a while! I've basically been moving house and working. Dear god I've been working. Surviving can be hard these days. I am currently in the process of, erm, finding my stuff to make my loft studio what it needs to be. Also my dad gave me a load of old frames. So I can start to make interesting pieces with cool retro frames. Well, back to the grind. I am doing a little bit on my studio and house every day so I should be up and running again soon.

So these are just some photos of the stall board I have done. It's just so I have some thing on my table on future stalls that says exactly who I am. Instead of just some randomer with a load of junk on a table. Everything in context... Well enjoy!

Would you kindly?

Well I'm sorry for being away from here for so long. The long and short of it is I got a new day job in November and I kinda just spent my time surviving until recently when I started to draw again. But I'm back now so that's all that matters.

I have a few things on the go at the moment, kind of had nothing for ages and now I have "counts on fingers" like at least 6 things on the go at once now. I have a habit of doing that. As well as drawing I have done 2 sets of classes for the Lincolnshire school improvement service, teaching them there kiddies about illustration so that was taking up some time too.

But any who, here is what I've been up to! (In no particular order)

This is a card design made in some thing like 2-3 hours in total. I created it originally to send off to an african fair trade card company but I decided to keep it because I just liked the little guy too much.

This isn't actually finished yet but I wanted to post it because I really think it's turning out well. It is called "Artistic hands" and I drew the original doodle for this in one of the school classes. I have also come to the conclusion that I do art work in variants of Green and Purple in nearly every piece I come up with. I have therefore set my self a goal of use some other damn colours!

I have also decided to try and make some original art on vinyl records and turn them into clock but thats another story. Well cheers!

October-feeeeest

Right I have just had a week and a bit off, and during this time I have not done any drawing or art. This is manly because I have been stinking ill, on my actual birthday I was so ill I only just managed to get showered and dressed! So I have only just managed to get around to doing the things I wanted to do, on the second to last day of my time off... oh well carry on!

Here are some pictures of what I have been up to during and leading up to October. A mixture of painting, and making.

Here is a photograph of my canvas bag, I finally got to see it on the second to last day of the show. The little red dot on the label means that some one bought it! And it wasn't anyone I knew :)

This is my poster design for the Pantomime which is being put on at the Jolly Brewer in Lincoln. It is in some respects traditional in that the main characters are female, hence why Aladdin is a female in my poster. The Panto is called "Aladdin and the Magic Tankard"

Another loverly thing I have been up to is....I gave all my canvases and poster prints and badges to my boyfriends parents. They took it all to a cafe in Scarborough, Nutmeg. This is where my work is currently being shown, much like when I showed my work at the Jolly Brewer. I do have some photographs but I will save them for when I find out how it went. Not long now, it finishes at the end of this month.

Well that is what I have been up to, it's just a shame that I was ill for so long, I would have gotten so much more done.
